These potato chips are quick to prepare because we will make healthy chips in 10 minutes in the microwave. They are healthy, because they are not fried. And not used liters of oil like the bagged ones we buy in the supermarket. And if that wasn’t enough, they are extra crunchy.
That is, they are potatoes that we buy raw, of good quality and the variety that we like the most, we laminate them, and we cook them in the microwave with a few drops of oil. In addition, you can use spicy, flavored oil, season them with aromatic herbs, with pepper. They are an exceptional snack and nobody will believe that it is healthy.

But do you know where these most addictive potato chips come from? Well, as in many other cases in which we talk about a greasy food or friend of fast food, from the United States. A restaurant called Moon Lake Lodge’s, in New York, around 1853, decided to cut French fries (the other type of potato with long cut) too thin, since a regular diner complained daily about not serving them crisp. The chef, George Crum, decided to cut them so excessively fine that it was impossible to prick them with a fork. And, fortunately or unfortunately, Crum received applause from the complaining diner, and praised him, making known that dish that today is part of any vermouth or party among friends. Because we all know it, French fries are the soul of any snack.

- extra virgin olive oil, or spicy oil, infused with garlic.
Preparation of healthy potato chips:
First of all, we wash the potatoes well, as we will not peel them. We dry them well, with a clean cloth, and cut them into very thin slices. We can do it, either with a mandolin, or with a sharp knife, trying to make them as thin as possible.
Next, we put a teaspoon of oil on a plate, and spread well with a brush. Then, we distribute the potato slices on the plate, ensuring that they are not piled up one on top of the other, and that they are separated so that they do not stick together.
Next, we put them in the microwave for 4 minutes. After time, we remove, turn all the potato slices. And we put in the microwave again, for 5 more minutes. The last minutes, we will ensure that they do not burn, since each microwave is different, and perhaps yours needs less time.
Once they are slightly golden, we remove them from the microwave and transfer to a bowl. Season to taste, being able to add more spices, seasonings, and stir so that all are well impregnated.
They are kept very crispy if we keep them in an airtight container, and in a dry place.
